SKEPTIC? WEEK 5
searching for God. asking questions. finding faith
RECAP
Today we wrapped up the series with rapid fire questions. Paul, Mark and I had 3 minutes and 30 seconds to answer the questions you submitted. We talked about war, prayer, guitars, baseball, the cross, fear and much more. Too much to adequately recap so just listen to the podcast later this week. The bottom line is that it's okay to have questions. God is bigger than our questions and He can handle it. If we didn't have questions, if we had God all figured out, He wouldn't be much of God. So don't let your questions stop you from finding faith. Just like in my marriage, I am still trying to figure our my wife, but we are still in a relationship. We can take steps of faith, even if we still have questions. Deut. 4:29 - We will find God if we search for Him with all our hearts.
THOUGHTS
- Today was a full day. Child dedications, coming off vacation/time off for staff, a full house - Good day.
- I thought the rapid fire questions thing was a good change of pace.
- Giving me a mic and doing some live, unscript interaction like today...it's dangerous. I don't think I said anything too stupid.
- We have some minor tech problems today. We do a lot more tech stuff than most church but have less issues. We don't have tech problems very often so props to the Tech Team.
- Child Dedications today. Thanks to Janine Coker for making awesome plagues. Always fun having kids on stage.
- Band was a little rough today but pulled it out.
- Thanksgiving is always a hard week. Things don't happen as usual like prep, band practice, volunteers don't show cuz of the holiday weekend. But it all still comes together.
- Things have really picked up numbers wise at Journey this month...finance and attendance. Good but I want that to translate to lives changed, baptisms, giving of self and things like that too.
